- Bracket
-
Brackets are also known as “mounts,” and are used to attach curtain rods to the ceiling or wall. This element can be created in a host of shapes and sizes to accommodate various curtain rods and drapery rods, including double rods, inside mount rods, rods with returns, etc.

C
- Center Draw
-
When curtains draw from the middle of a traverse curtain rod to the right and left, instead of only to one side, it is a center draw. This type of curtain rod is attractive because center draw rods are able to carry more drapery weight than other traverse curtain rods, and are easier to open or close because they utilize two pulleys instead of one.
- Curtain Rods
-
A curtain rod, or curtain rail, is a tool used to suspend curtains, most commonly above windows, and serves as the central focus of your drapery hardware. When choosing the right curtain rods for your project, it’s important to remember that they can add additional visual interest to your window treatments, even expanding the appearance of the window’s width.

- Drapery Hardware
-

F
- Finial
-
Searching for the perfect finishing touch to complete your client’s interior design vision? Consider using finials! Finials are a “crowning touch” and are typically used to fasten lampshades to lamps, and to provide a finishing touch to the ends of curtain rods and other home furnishings.

G
- Grommets
-
A grommet is an eyelet that is made of firm material and placed in a window treatment to protect the fabric while also serving as the guide for curtain rods. Thanks to the sturdy material that grommets are made of, they allow curtain panels to slide easily over the rod and add strength to the fabric as the curtains are handled over their lifetime.

M
- Motorization
-
Want to take your customized curtains or shades to the next level? Motorization allows you to control your window treatments with the touch of a button, and the good news is, motors are available for nearly all types of window treatments. Advanced motorization systems will even let you synchronize multiple treatments, set timers, and integrate them into your smartphone, tablet, or smart home automation system.

P
- Pillow Forms
-
A pillow form, also known as a pillow insert, is a plainly covered pillow used in interior design and home decor projects. These inserts can be made of foam, filled with down or polyester, or made with eco-friendly materials. Once you’ve chosen the size of pillow you’d like for your project, decorative covers may be purchased or custom made to fit your pillow forms.
- Projection
-
Projection refers to the space between a curtain rod and the surface it’s mounted on. Projection can vary, and the distance depends on your curtain rod size, the properties of your window treatment, and available mounting conditions. Projection brackets can also be used for mounting window treatments. Since outside mounts require a minimum amount of flat surface above the window or window frame for mounting brackets, projection brackets are often used to clear the window or frame moulding.
-
T
- Template
-
A template is a guide used to assist with the positioning and drilling of screw holes for the brackets used in mounting curtain rods. This guide allows for easier installation of the drapery hardware needed to effectively secure window treatments and drapery.
- Tie Backs
-
Tie backs are decorative strips of cloth, cord, or metal used for draping curtains to the side of a window. They serve as both functional and decorative elements which you can either anchor into place with a small hook (screwed through the tie back into the wall), or by wrapping the tie back around a curtain and then hanging it from the hook.
- Traverse Rod
-
If you’re looking for a more elegant option for opening and closing your window treatments, traverse rods are the perfect solution. The mechanism inside traverse rods sets them apart from regular curtain rods, and allows for minimal effort when opening or closing your curtains or drapery. How do they work? These unique rods have clips or “eyes” that move along a track within the rod. To operate your curtains, a cord runs through the rod and is attached to a slide or pulley, enabling you to open and close the window treatment.
